WE LOVE TO LEARN

We have had so much fun over the last few months.  Many of the kids are sounding out words and starting to read.  It is always so exciting; it just never gets old helping kids learn to read.  Have I mentioned I love to read!!  Here are a few pictures I snapped of things we have been doing. My phone is full of pictures of these great kids.  Now I just need to remember to take pictures of my own kids:)

I know what you did last month ---- You had FUN FUN FUN!

We have done so much since my last post.  We studied the seasons and made tortillas (read The Tortilla Factory).  We studied about Christopher Columbus and raced boats.  Then we celebrated Halloween.  What a great time we are having.

Paleontologists at Play

Last week we learned about dinosaurs.  The kids had a great time digging up dinosaur bones.  They learned what a paleontologist does, what Pangaea was, and that some animals have become extinct.  See if your child remembers these words and can tell you what they mean.

I Scream You Scream

I'm glad to report there were only screams of joy this week as we made and devoured homemade friendship ice cream. Last week's theme was friendship and how we can be a good friend. Each child brought a different ingredient to make ice cream and when we put all those different ingredients together it made something wonderful and tasty.  Friends that are different from us can be wonderful too. (but not tasty that would be weird)
